Jeff Tobin is a member of the Professional Advisers Association ( PAA) and Senior Associate of the Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF Snr Assoc). Jeff is also a Certified Insurance Professional CIP. and as such has committed to comply with the code of ethics in all facets of his practice.

Qualifications and Experience

Jeff has worked in the Insurance industry since 1978 attaining the position of senior insurance inspector. Jeff became an insurance and risk management adviser forming Tobin Insurance Services in February 1987. Jeff has qualified by examination as;

• Senior Associate of the Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance: AIINZ (Snr Assoc)
• Is a holder of the Advanced Life Insurance Certificate (ALIC)
• Jeff has qualified by examination to be a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Insurance and Investment Advisers, and is entitled to use the distinctive title and designation CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter), the pinnacle of professional attainment. Jeff undertakes to comply with the continuing education requirements of the Institute.
• Jeff also attained the highest mark in New Zealand for the Disability Insurance Course examination 1996 and highest mark in New Zealand for the 1997 Business Insurance Course examinations.

Jeff Tobin has agencies with AMP, Vero Fire and General Insurance, nib, Fidelity Life Assurance, Sovereign, Onepath Life and Health Insurance, AIA, Southern Cross Healthcare, Asteron Life, Partnerslife. In addition Jeff can introduce you to other professionals for advice in the areas of Mortgages, Wills, Trusts, Enduring Power of Attorney, Accountancy, as well as Investment Planning and Monitoring, to provide a total Estate Planning Service.

Remuneration

Remuneration is received in the form of commissions from all suppliers, according to their standard rates. These commissions comprise an initial payment on placement of business and an annual servicing commission as long as policies remain in force. The rate of commission may vary from time to time.

Written reports on insurance needs and recommendations may be charged on a fee basis agreed up front with clients, should an independent reporting service only, be required. This allows you to source products elsewhere. This fee may be discounted if insurance products are subsequently sourced through Tobin Insurance Services.

Jeff Tobin has:

• No convictions or associations with offences involving the Securities Act or Dishonesty, nor been a director or Principal of any body corporate so convicted.
• No Incidence of bankruptcy or insolvency
• No Prohibition from management.

Debbie Hitakahiwai, our Client Care Manager has been with us since 1999 and has extensive insurance industry experience. Debbie helps look after our existing clients providing back up service to Jeff.

Elaine Tobin has worked as Administration Manager and Client Care Manager for TIS since 1994.

Hobbies and Interests

Jeff is a foundation member of the Left Hand Drive Enthusiasts Federation and a committee member of the NZ Federation of Motoring Clubs Inc since 2004. Jeff has lobbied the Ministry of Transport and Land Transport NZ successfully since 2003 for a fairer set of rules for all motoring enthusiasts, in particular registration and importation rules for left hand drive car enthusiasts, which has resulted in new legislation being introduced in 2008 around Special Interest Vehicles. The new Steering System Rule was signed off and came into force 1 April 2010. A link to the Federation of Motoring Clubs website is here. Jeff has been an active member of the Auckland Mustang Owners Club since 1998. Jeff is married and has two adult children, together with 11 acres to look after in North West Auckland, keeps him pretty busy.
